Supervising paid parking lots on Vilnius streets, ME „Susisiekimo paslaugos“ follows:

• Authorisation of the Vilnius City council (Decision No. 1-276 of the Vilnius City Council as of 25/02/2004),
• Administrative Code, Article No.269,
• Instructions regarding compulsory vehicle removal and clamping, 
• Road traffic rules.

According to Vilnius City Council Decision No. 1-276 of  25/02/2004, from tax on car parking are exempted:

• Drivers of the Fire protection department, Police, gas emergency services, emergency medical aid vehicles that are marked with special signs, light and sound signals, who are on duty;
• Drivers of other emergency services, vehicles of street building, underground communication repair and maintenance services that are marked with special light signals and are on duty on accidents;
• Vehicles marked with signs set in Road traffic rules “Disabled”, when there is in vehicles registration document a proper mark (the driver of the vehicle is disabled person or he is carried in that vehicle);
• In 5-15 m stretches near to buildings of state enterprises, institutions or councils that are marked by their funds.
